Hi,

Can we put both os these on the same heatsink?

Would it give noise issues.

Hi treez,

Thank you for showing interest in Power Integrations and its products.

Both exposed pads of PFS7527H and TFS7703H are connected to GROUND and SOURCE respectively.

These nets are connected to GROUND on a design with both devices so you may use the same heatsink for both devices.

Please refer to the datasheets for more heatsink assembly details.

Thanks, we have a product with 300W peak power, but average power is some 100W. Power is drawn at 300W for 5 seconds...then 10 seconds off, then repeat.

How small could such a hiperPFS/hiperTFS solution be for this? (100-265vac)

Vout = 37V.

We would like to get it on a wall wart size if possible?

Thanks for DER484, please could you possibly advise what is the dims of the PCB there?...sorry to keep asking.

I reckon those components look like they could be "folded up" to go in a wallwart size.

Maybe we have to put an inner metal copper case.....and some good thermal potting compound....then make the plastic outer case very thin.

Maybe if we earth the copper case we can use extremely thin plastic over it?

I think we'd need some plastic, even if with holes in it, so the cust didnt get burned touching the metal casing?

Hi treez,

The dimensions for DER-484 are following in inches, 8.1L x 3.4W x 1.9H.

As you have mentioned, you may utilize heat sinks, heat spreaders, and/or potting compound to help improve the thermals.

Minimizing power loss (best efficiency) will be the key in achieving high power density.

Please refer to other design examples for reference of efficiency targets that are possible with HiperPFS3 and HiperTFS2.
