Railway Gate Drivers
Trams, subway trains and buses experience a high number of acceleration and deceleration cycles on a daily basis. As well as a changing electric and thermal load, the power electronics systems are also subject to vibrations. Power Integrations has developed a range of IGBT-drivers specifically to suit this demanding application.
The plug-and-play drivers 1SP0335 Railway, 1SP0630 Railway and 1SP0635 Railway combine our SCALE-2 technology and high levels of integration with robust design features and practices. They deliver the high performance, reliability and ease of use railway customers are asking for.
These gate drivers are available to suit IHM or IHV modules from all major manufacturers, including Infineon™, Mitsubishi™, Hitachi™ and ABB™.
SCALE-2 technology uses an ASIC chipset to reduce component count and size, with increased performance, scalability, and reliability. It enables designers to optimize dynamic switching performance, accuracy and functionality.
Reliability is of paramount importance for railway applications, and our gate drivers have been designed with increased mechanical robustness. They meet IEC 61373 specifications for shock and vibration and IEC 60068-2-xx environmental requirements. Units are also EMC-qualified according to EN 50121-3-2 and IEC 6100-4-x.
With standard conformal coating, the new gate drivers can also undergo burn-in on request for added reliability. Improved connectors increase interconnection security and facilitate fast release without tooling. Fiber-optic interfaces are provided.
